Science Week was organized in The Indian Academy, Sharjah from 26th April to 30th April, 2015. The theme of the Science week celebration was “Green school, Greener planet”. Many events were organized as part of the week.

On 26th April event started with “Go Green”. The students from grade I -VI enthusiastically took part in planting saplings indoors. It was followed by “Go ecofriendly” on 27th April. As share of this students took part in many ecofriendly activities that have helped to adopt the practice of protecting the natural environment, for the benefit of both the environment and humans. Students of all grades involved themselves in making pen stands, notebooks storage boxes and paper bags. The rewards of keeping a single lovebird can be amazing. Social awareness was spreaded about care towards birds by making bird houses. To raise new questions, new possibilities, needs creative mind’s eye hence Science was made correlations to links like Maths, Art and Music. Balanced diet charts were prepared on 28th April by grade IV to have fit and healthy body. Environmentally informative trip was organized on 29th April to Royals garden nursery to learn more about growing trees for next generations and to encourage civic pride. On the last day, 30th April public speeches on “Reduce, Reuse and Recycle”, “Go Green” and power point presentation about “Saving mother Earth” indeed generated interest and love for science amongst learners. This will positively benefit them by motivating them to garner more knowledge.

Science week celebration holds a lot of significance for the Science department. Everyone worked nonstop to make this event successful. We all look forward to the future with new concepts and fresh potency to make next year’s Science Week an even more memorable one!
